Dr. Boyle's work focuses on working with utilities to introduce technologies that drive efficiency and set a new bar for how utilities understand and utilize data. She received a doctorate in water resource planning in 2011 and “spun” Valor Water out of her thesis work at University of North Carolina. She is a trustee of the Cal-Nevada American Water Works Association and a water policy adviser for the World Bank.
Chief Technology Officer
David leads software development, technology research, and technical operations for Valor. Prior to Valor, he held similar roles for Lexmark’s cloud team and for Twistage, a cloud video platform. David is an accomplished software engineer and entrepreneur, and has spearheaded teams ranging from his own startup to the Fortune 500. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with degrees in computer science and political science.
Full Stack Developer
Renee is the full stack engineer for Valor Water Analytics and has been with the team for five years and counting. She wears many different hats as an expert in Python, Tableau and SQL, working to develop new products and make sure existing ones run smoothly. Prior to Valor, Renee was a valuable member of renewable energy projects for bringing solar and marine energies to the world, handling all of the complex data problems associated with feasibility and citing.
Senior Manager of Solutions Engineering
Matthew is the interface between sales, product, and engineering, using his interdisciplinary skill set to design solutions that meet our utility partners' needs and manage their creation. Before joining Valor, Matthew worked in product and program management in the energy technology and internet of things (IoT) spaces. Matthew earned a B.S. and M.S. from Stanford University, his studies focused on the intersection of climate science, energy systems, and technology.
Staff Software Engineer
Michael is a veteran software engineer with 18 years' experience building reliable and scalable internet services. Prior to Valor, he co-founded one of the first companies to deliver a successful web-based course management system. More recently, his focus has been on large-scale distributed applications, big-data analytics and cloud computing systems. Michael also enjoys tinkering with sensors and signals, RF systems, e-bikes and violins. Michael holds a B.S. in Physics and an M.A. in Music, Science and Technology from Stanford University.
Business Development Director
With more than 20 years of experience in the water industry, Carl has been involved with the evolution of water loss control technologies and approaches over this time. As a current member of both the AWWA Water Loss Control and Customer Metering Practices Committees, he is up to date on the current trends in regulations and legislation associated with water loss and the new requirements placed on water agencies. Carl holds a degree in Economics from University College Dublin, Ireland.
Senior QA Engineer
Glen is the Senior QA Engineer at Valor Water Analytics. Prior to Valor, Glen has worked at startup and enterprise level companies as an individual contributor and leader. He has held roles related to developer and customer support, qa, customer success, technical operations and developer community building. His technical blogs have been featured on Atlassian and CA Technologies company blogs. He enjoys working for startups and is a startup adviser. Glen has a B.S. degree in Computer Science from UCSD.
Global Product Manager
Heidi, a 17-year software product veteran, has worked in the clean-tech space since 2007 in a range of capacities including product development, process management, team management, and software engineering. Recently she served as Director of Engineering at Geli, which optimizes and controls energy storage systems. Prior to Geli, she was the first employee, then CTO and Head of Product of Carbonflow, a carbon credit software company. Global Product Manager
Maryana spent six years in software product management in the San Francisco Bay Area, serving as Product Lead for mobile projects at the Wikimedia Foundation and leading a redesign of Goodreads, the social reading platform, at Amazon. Maryana graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with degrees in English and Russian and pursued a PhD in Slavic Literature at Harvard University, so she can always be counted on for book recommendations and Slavic grammar tips.
Victor is a Software Engineer and former DevOps Engineer Intern at Valor Water Analytics. A recent UC Berkeley computer science grad, Victor appreciates the intersection of technology with environmentalism and social good. His background in automation, cloud computing, and full-stack web development enables him to focus on DevOps at Valor. Victor also contributes as a software generalist to other endeavors such as data analysis and performance optimization. In his free time, Victor maintains a small Ruby on Rails web app.
KRISTINE GALI, P.E.
Technical Program Manager
Kristine is the technical program manager for Valor. She works directly with customers on a day to day basis, delivering Valor’s product solutions and ensuing customers have a seamless and engaging program experience. Kristine comes from a water background and previously worked as an engineer in planning, design, and construction for EBMUD. Prior to Valor she lead the professional services team at Lucid, an energy and sustainability SaaS company. Kristine has a B.S. from UCLA and a M.S. from UC Berkeley.
Bahman comes from 17 years of theoretical Physics research in statistical patterns of random and quantum systems. Besides a PhD in Physics he has also an MSc degree in Data Science with focus on machine learning and advanced statistics. His main focus has been on developing software for analysis of sequential data such as water, energy consumption or RNA sequences. Bahman is passionate about environment and curious to how to monitor environmental elements using complex data. He also enjoys hiking, Persian Calligraphy and cooking in his spare time.
Sabrina has studied German, English and Educational Sciences in Germany and holds a Middle and High School Teaching Degree, as well as a California Single Subject Teaching Credential. Besides teaching, Sabrina has held several QA and content development positions at high-profile IT companies in Silicon Valley, and gained Office Management experiences working for the market research company InfoScout (now Numerator). In her free time, Sabrina loves crafting and hunting down vintage fashion in San Francisco’s thrift stores.

Alex’s time within the water industry has focused on bringing software and data solutions to water utilities. These solutions have focused specifically on both real and apparent non-revenue water loss issues. Alex came to Valor with a proven track record of working with public and private utilities with extensive B2B sales management and business development experience. Alex holds a B.A. from Arizona State University, School of Technology and Innovation and a MBA from Gonzaga University, School of Business.
