Harness The Power of Decision Intelligence

SOURCE: Xylem US Website

Leverage the power of data to inform better system-level decisions today, while planning future outcomes for operations, maintenance, and capital planning

There has never been a better time to be a utility manager than today. Recent advancements in analytical technologies for water management mean that long-standing problems in our sector can finally be addressed in an effective and affordable way. Digital solutions are enabling dramatic financial and operational improvements through better system controls, more efficient monitoring and diagnostics, more targeted investments, and a transition to a holistic model for system management.

Valor Water Analytics and Xylem Sponsors of Erie Hack 2019

Both Valor Water Analytics and Xylem are sponsoring this year’s Erie Hack, a challenge organized and led by the Cleveland Water Alliance in collaboration with partners in Detroit MI, Toledo OH, Erie PA, Buffalo NY, and Windsor ON (Canada). Several competitions for coders, developers, engineers, and water experts have been created in order to generate enduring solutions to Lake Erie’s biggest challenges. The competition includes $100,000 in prizes for the most creative and effective hacks.

Two members of Valor Water Analytics’ Engineering team, Data Scientist Bahman Roostaei and Software Engineer Victor Miao, created a mini challenge for Erie Hack, listed under ‘Drive the Creation of Meaningful Dara’,. A ‘Seasonal Water Usage Analysis’, focuses on the question how to leverage technical tools to explain or quantify how weather variables contribute to local water usage pattern.
