Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Christine served as Operations Manager for e-commerce firm hooloo.com in the first dot com boom before going on to get her doctorate in water resource planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While there, she led a team at Environmental Finance Center on a multiyear study of water utility data analytics for the state’s Urban Water Consortium.
She has advised the national governments of China and the Maldives on national water policy in her role as a World Bank consultant. At Valor, she works with utilities worldwide to introduce technologies that drive efficiency and set a new bar for how utilities understand and utilize data.
Chief Technology Officer
David leads software development, technology research, and technical operations for Valor. Prior to Valor, he held similar roles for Lexmark’s cloud team and for Twistage, a cloud video platform. David is an accomplished software engineer and entrepreneur, and has spearheaded teams ranging from his own startup to the Fortune 500. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with degrees in computer science and political science.
Director of Client Engagement
Janani leads strategic account client management and engagement delivery at Valor. Prior to Valor, Janani managed strategic client accounts (5M+/year) at Korn Ferry International. Janani has worked in and with utilities during her tenure at MWH Australia and Watercare Services New Zealand, and provided expertise on water supply planning, hydraulic network modeling, water efficiency, and odor management. Janani has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Queensland, Australia.
Full Stack Developer
Renee is the lead data engineer for Valor Water Analytics. She wears many different hats at Valor as an expert in R, Python, Tableau and PostgreSQL, working to make sure the product runs smoothly. Prior to Valor, Renee was a valuable member of renewable energy projects for bringing solar and marine energies to the world, handling all of the complex data problems associated with feasibility and citing.
Lead Data Scientist
Sohaib is Lead Data Scientist at Valor Water Analytics. He has a PhD in Theoretical Physics, with a focus on String Theory and Quantum Gravity, from the University of Texas at Austin, and spent part of his undergraduate at CERN, home to the world's largest particle accelerator and birthplace of the world wide web. Before joining Valor, Sohaib was a Fellow at Insight Data Science, New York.
Director of Sales
Steve is a veteran sales professional with significant finance, consulting and business development experience. Most recently, Steve formed a commercial solar group for a large privately held integrator, where he built a team which generated $25M in sales in a 12 month period. Steve’s customers include water districts, utilities, schools, community colleges, municipalities, agriculture, and private business. He earned an MS and MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
Technical Program Manager
Matthew works directly with customers to understand their needs and wants, closely collaborates with engineering to oversee the creation of industry leading products, and closely manages the deployment of these products in the field. Before joining Valor, Matthew worked in product and program management in the energy technology and internet of things (IoT) spaces. Matthew earned a B.S. and M.S. from Stanford University focussing on the intersection of climate science and energy engineering.
Staff Software Engineer
Michael is a veteran internet software engineer with 18 years experience building reliable and scalable internet services. Prior to Valor, he co-founded one of the first internet companies to deliver a successful course management system and distance-learning platform via the web. More recently, his focus has been on large-scale distributed applications, big-data analytics and cloud computing systems.
He is also an avid hardware tinkerer, and enjoys experimenting with physical sensors and signal sources, software defined radio, and RF transceivers and antennas. Michael attended Stanford University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Physics and a master's degree in Music, Science and Technology
Southeast Regional Sales Director
Doris leads Valor’s Southeast sales efforts. Doris has a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Texas A&M University. She has over 7 years of experience working in engineering design projects for utilities and municipalities all around Florida. She has been involved in several projects with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). Doris maintained and managed the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan- Model Management System (CERP-MMS) providing support to the Interagency Modeling Center (IMC) at the SFWMD.
