Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Christine served as Operations Manager for e-commerce firm hooloo.com in the first dot com boom before going on to get her doctorate in water resource planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While there, she led a team at Environmental Finance Center on a multiyear study of water utility data analytics for the state’s Urban Water Consortium.
She has advised the national governments of China and the Maldives on national water policy in her role as a World Bank consultant. At Valor, she works with utilities worldwide to introduce technologies that drive efficiency and set a new bar for how utilities understand and utilize data.
Chief Technology Officer
David leads software development, technology research, and technical operations for Valor. Prior to Valor, he held similar roles for Lexmark’s cloud team and for Twistage, a cloud video platform. David is an accomplished software engineer and entrepreneur, and has spearheaded teams ranging from his own startup to the Fortune 500. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with degrees in computer science and political science.
Chief of Delivery and Product
Janani leads the product and delivery teams at Valor that ensures we are developing products that clients love, and that our clients obtain the maximum value and success from Valor solutions. Prior to Valor, Janani worked in revenue-generating roles at Korn Ferry International, and in water supply planning and wastewater treatment roles at MWH Australia and Watercare Services New Zealand. Janani has a deep understanding of the water sector, utility operations, SaaS development lifecycle, and project management methodologies. She is an active member of IWA and AWWEE. Janani has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Queensland, Australia.
Full Stack Developer
Renee is the lead data engineer for Valor Water Analytics. She wears many different hats at Valor as an expert in R, Python, Tableau and PostgreSQL, working to make sure the product runs smoothly. Prior to Valor, Renee was a valuable member of renewable energy projects for bringing solar and marine energies to the world, handling all of the complex data problems associated with feasibility and citing.
Senior Manager of Solutions Engineering
Matthew works directly with customers to understand their needs and wants, closely collaborates with engineering to oversee the creation of industry leading products, and closely manages the deployment of these products in the field. Before joining Valor, Matthew worked in product and program management in the energy technology and internet of things (IoT) spaces. Matthew earned a B.S. and M.S. from Stanford University focussing on the intersection of climate science and energy engineering.
Staff Software Engineer
Michael is a veteran internet software engineer with 18 years experience building reliable and scalable internet services. Prior to Valor, he co-founded one of the first internet companies to deliver a successful course management system and distance-learning platform via the web. More recently, his focus has been on large-scale distributed applications, big-data analytics and cloud computing systems.
He is also an avid hardware tinkerer, and enjoys experimenting with physical sensors and signal sources, software defined radio, and RF transceivers and antennas. Michael attended Stanford University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Physics and a master's degree in Music, Science and Technology
Business Development Director
Carl has been working in the water industry for over 20 years, and during this time has been a part of the evolution of water loss technologies and approaches. As a current member of both the CA-NV Section and National AWWA Water Loss Control Committee and Customer Metering Practices Committee, he is actively involved in the discussion of best practices and solutions for water utilities. He has also a member of subcommittee overseeing the creation and development of the Water Audit Validator certificate program in California, which allows those who successfully obtain the certificate to validate mandated water audits in California under SB 555 Urban Retail Water Supplier: Water Loss Management.
Prior to joining Valor, Carl worked in the area of pipeline condition assessment and asset management.
Business Development Manager
Bryon is the Business Development Manager for Valor Water Analytics. Bryon has spent over 10 years in the Water and Energy sectors, with the majority of his time spent in Water selling complex systems and solutions for water management and efficiency. He is based out of Oregon, but will be covering several regions of the U.S. for Valor. Protecting our valuable resource of water is a passion of Bryon’s, but he also loves to golf, hike and camp in the great outdoors of the Pacific NW, and spend time with his beautiful family.
Senior QA Engineer
Glen is the Senior QA Engineer at Valor Water Analytics. Prior to Valor, Glen has worked at startup and enterprise level companies as an individual contributor and leader. He has held roles related to developer and customer support, qa, customer success, technical operations and developer community building. His technical blogs have been featured on Atlassian and CA Technologies company blogs. He enjoys working for startups and is a startup advisor. Glen has a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego.
Global Product Manager
Heidi, a 17-year software product veteran, has worked in the cleantech space since 2007 in a range of capacities including product development, process management, team management, and software engineering. Recently she served as Director of Engineering at Geli, which optimizes and controls energy storage systems. Prior to Geli, over the course of six years, she was the first employee, then CTO and Head of Product of Carbonflow, a carbon credit software company. Heidi graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University where she double majored in Mathematics and German.
Global Product Manager
Maryana has spent six years in user research and software product management in the San Francisco Bay Area. She served as Product Lead for mobile projects at the Wikimedia Foundation and led a redesign of desktop Goodreads, the social reading platform, at Amazon. In addition to building great software, she is passionate about global development and spent a year managing donations processing at GiveWell, a non-profit charity evaluator. Maryana graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with dual degrees in English and Russian and pursued a PhD in Slavic Languages and Literature at Harvard University, so she can always be counted on for book recommendations and Slavic grammar tips.
